FLIRT

Women reveal the pick-up moves that really work

Flirting may not be rocket science, but a little research can go a long way. If you want to know what flirting strategies really work on women, ask them. Or better still, let us ask them for you.

So, should you be brushing up your chat-up lines, practising your killer eye contact or memorising fistfuls of compliments? Here, according to the women we spoke to, are the flirting tricks that actually work.

Move 1: Hot and cold

What to do: First, knock her sideways with a volley of adoration. Tell her she's the most beautiful woman you've ever seen and beg for her number. Gaze at her, unsettle her, pocket that number – and vanish without trace. A couple of weeks later, accidentally-on-purpose bump into her.

Why it works: She won't know what she's got 'til it's gone. Your initial over-the-top chat-up establishes you as a sure thing, and like all sure things, you'll seem a whole lot more attractive when you've disappeared. Give her a week or so to work up a crush, and she'll be putty in your hands. Manipulative but horribly effective.

Move 2: Peachy keen

What to do: Interrupt her to say that she has beautiful skin. Sit back, because she may blush with more heat than you can bear.

Why it works: A great compliment can do all your chat-up work on its own. If she has good skin, mentioning it will make her tingle with confidence. Don't use it as an opening chat-up line (it sounds a bit stalkerish) but it works a treat when dropped into conversation because it makes her feel sexy without sounding lecherous.

Move 3: Death by eye contact

What to do: If you spot a woman you'd like to talk to, look at her until she meets your eye. Try to hold her gaze. Let her look away first – you can guarantee she'll look back again a few seconds later. You're communicating loud and clear without saying a word.

Why it works: Women are extremely sensitive to body language signals, and intense eye contact forges a powerful emotional connection. It works once you're making conversation, too, so look her in the eye when she talks. She'll like you for it, because it suggests that you respect and value what she's saying – and it's extremely seductive.

Move 4: Flatter her babble

What to do: Encourage her to talk more. Never underestimate the flirtatious power of the phrase “I could talk to you for hours.”

Why it works: The nerves and adrenaline of a flirtatious situation conspire to make most women babble, and they're well aware of it. Don't knock it – it's a sign that she likes you. If you can make her feel good about her babbling, she'll enjoy your company and want to come back for more. Don't be afraid to interrupt, as long as it's on-topic – it shows that you’re engaged in what she’s saying.

Move 5: Silent conspiracy

What to do: If you're with a group of friends and you spot an attractive girl across the room, stay where you are. Use body language to start a silent conversation with her. Smile in a conspiratorial way, and send signals that'll make her laugh – roll your eyes, shrug your shoulders, make it clear that “you're much more interesting than this lot.”

Why it works: Two people, in on a joke that no-one else in the room is party to... it's flirtation at its finest. She feels more important than your friends – what more could a girl want? You're on the same wavelength before you've even said hello. Raise the stakes by disappearing for a few minutes so that she wonders where you've gone. Reappear, smile, and walk over.

Move 6: Hello again

What to do: Stride confidently up to a woman you've never seen before, and say, “We've met before.” Look her in the eye and maintain that air of confidence. She'll be too intrigued to let you wander off.

Why it works: Walk up to a woman and make a confident, non-judgemental, intriguing statement, and she'll want to know more. It's open-ended and invites her opinion – unlike, say, “um sorry um can I buy you a drink?” which invites her rejection (the more “um”s, the greater the likelihood of rejection).

Move 7: Funny ha ha

What to do: Tell her a joke. The idea is that she'll then tell you a joke. Your task is to make sure that you find her joke funnier than yours. (Look, pretend to find her joke funnier than yours.)

Why it works: To a woman, a man with a good sense of humour is a man who shares her sense of humour. You will seduce her by making her feel witty and clever and cool, not by quoting entire episodes of Alan Partridge, unless she starts it.

Move 8: Fan mail

What to do: Scribble a short note of non-sleazy appreciation (say, “wish I knew your name”) on a piece of paper, and write your phone number on the back. Fold it up very small, walk past her and drop it into her lap. Make sure to catch her eye and smile while you do it.

Why it works: Let me count the ways... it's romantic, because it involves actual paper rather than text or email. It's conspiratorial (see Move 5). It flatters her by picking her out from the crowd. It's cheeky, quirky and creative. It may make her laugh, depending on what you wrote, and it's certain to make her smile, provided you didn't write anything sleazy or unintelligible. And it hands control to her, because the next move is up to her. If she's single and you are passably good-looking, we guarantee that she will hang onto your note and, one day, pick up the phone. Every girl knows that life's too short not to dial numbers that land in your lap.

How To Treat Diabetes Naturally

The term diabetes includes several types of diseases characterized by the abnormal increase in blood sugar (glucose) levels. The most frequent forms of diabetes are type 1 and type 2. Type 1 typically occurs during childhood, but lately it has been noted that adults can also develop this form of the disease. Type 2 is a disorder that occurs mainly during adulthood, but with the increase in obesity rates, many young people, even adolescents, have developed this type of the disorder.

How to avoid some of the complications caused by diabetes:

The long-term effects of diabetes include retinopathy with potential blindness, kidney disease, which can lead to kidney failure, amputations, sexual dysfunction, cardiovascular disease and more. What is more, there is no doubt that this condition can adversely affect the body's defensive powers, especially those related to the immune system. The synthesis of antibodies is severely impaired in diabetic patients, and the power of defense against viruses, bacteria and infections is on the decline. Due to the fact that the function of the immune system is greatly enhanced by the intake of adequate amounts of vitamins, it would be a good idea to take a multi-vitamin every day. Our body must produce antibodies in order to defend itself from the action of pathogenic bacteria and viruses and scientific research has shown that without adequate amounts of vitamins and protein, the synthesis of antibodies is greatly reduced. The vitamins that are particularly helpful in the synthesis of antibodies include pantothenic acid, pyridoxine and folic acid, riboflavin, thiamine, biotin, niacin and vitamin A. The vitamins that we take from food are usually sufficient only to prevent the manifestations of vitamin deficiency, but to get the optimal amount, it is necessary to take daily supplements.

How losing weight can help you fight diabetes:

Most people are overweight when they're diagnosed with diabetes. Obesity increases the chances of developing the disease and the more obese someone is, the harder it is to control blood sugar levels. Weight loss can actually reverse insulin resistance. But although obesity is a well-known risk factor of diabetes, not all obese people have shown the metabolic abnormalities associated with excess body fat. It seems that these abnormalities tend to occur more often in people with excessive abdominal fat.Having a waistline larger than 39 inches, can trigger both diabetes and heart disease. Research suggests that half of all men and women with waistlines of more than 39.37 inches suffer from insulin resistance. Reducing your waist circumference through weight loss can have a beneficial effect.

How to Lose Belly Fat

#
1
Exercise for weight loss. Aerobic exercise will facilitate fat loss all over your body, including your belly. You can't "spot-burn" belly fat, but it's usually the first to burn off when you exercise, regardless of your body shape or size.[1][2] Just be sure that you focus on calorie-burning exercises, rather than sit-ups or crunches. If your abdominal muscles are covered in fat, no strengthening of those muscles is going to change that. Aerobic exercise is key.[1]

#
2
Add resistance training. A 2006 study published in the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism suggests that combining cardiovascular (aerobic) exercise with resistance training is more effective than cardiovascular training alone in getting rid of abdominal fat[3] You can do resistance training with free weights, exercise machines, or resistance bands.
#
3
Reduce your calorie consumption, and swap out certain foods for others. Unless you restrict your calorie intake, you're not going to lose belly fat. There are some tactics that might help do away with belly fat faster, but only when you've already consistently restricted your calorie intake. For example, eating an avocado after eating an entire bag of chips isn't going to help you get rid of belly fat--in fact, it'll probably make the problem worse!
#
4
Whole grain pasta salad
Whole grain pasta salad
Switch out refined grains for whole grains. In a scientific study, people who ate all whole grains (in addition to five servings of fruits and vegetables, three servings of low-fat dairy, and two servings of lean meat, fish, or poultry) lost more belly fat than another group that ate the same diet, but with all refined grains. A diet rich in whole grains changes the glucose and insulin response in your body, which hastens the melting of fat, and visceral fat, that deep layer of fat, is easier for your body to burn than the subcutaneous fat under your skin (the fat that you can see and grab).[1]
#
5
Eat the better fats. Studies suggests that a diet with a higher ratio of monounsaturated fats (MUFAs) (avocados, nuts, seeds, soybeans, chocolate) can prevent the accumulation of both types of belly fat.[4] Some experts argue, though, that it's not that these fats specifically target abdominal fat in any way; it's that anyone will probably lose weight on a lower calorie diet (regardless of where those calories come from) and as discussed earlier, belly fat is usually the first to go.[1]

* Trans fats (in margarines, crackers, cookies--anything made with partially hydrogenated oils) seem to result in more fat being deposited in the abdomen, so avoid these as much as you can.[5]

#
6
Get more fiber in your diet. Soluble fiber (apples, oats, cherries) lowers insulin levels, which, as mentioned earlier, can speed up the burning of visceral belly fat.[5]

* Add fiber to your diet slowly. If you are currently getting 10 grams of fiber a day, don't jump to 35 grams of fiber the next day. You need to give the natural bacteria in your digestive system time to adapt to your new fiber intake.
* Leave the skin on! Incorporating more fruits and vegetables into your diet will add fiber, but only if you eat the skin, because that's where all the fiber is. So don't peel those apples before you eat them. If you're eating potatoes, try to leave the skin in the dish (such as if making baked or mashed potatoes) or if you peel them, make a snack out of them, such as baked garlic Parmesan peels. It's also worth knowing that keeping the skin on potatoes when you cook them will help keep more vitamins and minerals in the flesh. Just don't eat any parts of skin that are green.
* Eat more split pea soup. Split peas is a fiber "power food". Just one cup of them contains 16.3 grams of protein!

#
7
Motivate yourself by understanding the risks associated with belly fat. Losing belly fat doesn't have to be solely a cosmetic goal; understanding the health issues linked with belly fat can help motivate you. Belly fat is linked with cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer. Specifically it's the deepest layer of belly fat--the fat you can't see or grab--that poses health risks. That's because these "visceral" fat cells actually produce hormones and other substances that can affect your health (e.g. increased insulin resistance and/or breast cancer risk).[2] The fact that they're located right next to and in between organs in your abdominal cavity doesn't help. For example, fat next to the liver drains into it, causing a fatty liver, which is a risk factor for insulin resistance, setting the stage for Type 2 diabetes.[6]

*
Wrap a tape measure around your waist at the level of your navel. A measurement of more than 35 inches (women) and 40 inches (men) is considered to be
unhealthy.[2][1][6]

TIPS

* An additional benefit to exercising is that it reduces stress and insulin levels, which reduces the presence of cortisol, a hormone that leads to more belly fat deposits.[5]

* Since cortisol leads to more belly fat, and cortisol is linked with stress, anything you can do to cut stress in your life will also indirectly cut (or at least prevent more) belly fat.
* The way your body distributes fat is largely beyond control (heredity, menopause). What is within your control is your level of body fat overall--if you keep that low, it won't really matter where the fat goes, because there won't be much fat to deposit in the first place.
* Many women start gaining more weight in their belly as they get older, especially after menopause. The body fat distribution changes--less fat goes to your arms, legs and hips, and more of it goes to your midsection. Some people even find their waistline widening while their weight remains the same![2] Nonetheless, the above steps will help to do away with belly fat.
* If you don't have weights for resistance training, you can by lifting anything heavy (with care!) or you can use gravity as resistance: Do pull ups and push ups.
* If you're having trouble getting motivated to exercise, get halfway there. If you want to go to the gym, but just don't feel like it, at least just drive yourself to gym, and tell yourself that if you still don't feel like working out, you'll go home. Odds are, though, once you're there, you won't feel like driving home. (But if you do, that's OK too. But you probably won't.) Then tell yourself you'll just walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes, even if your exercise routine involves much more. Just telling yourself to do one more thing, without having to commit to anything else, will make things much easier. And before long, your endorphins will take over.
*
An easy way to burn more fat is to walk everywhere within a reasonable distance. You save money on gas, and also save wear and tear on your vehicle. And you might save parking charges and/or cab, bus or subway fares. All you need are comfortable shoes (take your dressier shoes with you if necessary) and walk, walk, walk. Pick up the pace as you get fitter to make those short journeys even quicker and smile at all the traffic traveling bumper to bumper in the rush hour.
* Eat smaller dinners. Large dinners tend to hurt a fat loss process because most people aren't very active after dinner. This is the basis for advice along the lines of "don't eat anything within a certain number of hours before going to bed". The claim that your entire dinner is stored as fat isn't entirely true. The process is more complicated than that, but the fact you don't move after dinner is enough to hurt your cause. You can offset this by eating a larger lunch or snacking healthily before dinner.
*
If you get lots of sweet cravings, replace sweets and sugar with fruits. The sugars in fruits are digested differently than the empty calories of white sugar that are in most candy and processed foods. The fiber in fruit also slows the absorption of the sugars so you don't get as high a sugar rush (and as low a crash).
* At times, for lack of anything better to do, some people snack. This is usually due to a craving, rather than hunger. When you find yourself wandering for food, try to do something that's not food-related to hold your attention.

WARNING

* Doing only sit-ups and crunches can actually cause the appearance of more belly fat, as the abdominal muscles grow in size and shape, they will push out against the fat, making it appear larger and thicker.
* If you've lost weight or been pregnant, you may have excess skin in the belly area that won't disappear no matter how much fat you burn. You will only know how much excess skin there is, though, if you get rid of all the fat first. It is also possible that your skin will tighten up again once you've lost the belly fat.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need:

* fresh ground chuck
* salt
* pepper
* hamburger buns
* cheese
* tomatoes
* lettuce
* onion
* pickles
* ketchup
* mayonnaise
* relish
* mustard
* Barbecue Grills
* Grill Baskets
* Grill Utensils
* Wire Grill Brushes
* Groceries

1.

Start with fresh ground chuck. Chuck is the most flavorful type of ground beef, and comes from a single cut of beef. Plain "ground beef" can include meat from all over the animal.
2.

Make sure the chuck has a fat content of at least 15 to 22 percent to ensure juiciness. If you prefer your burgers well done, ask your butcher for a higher fat content. This will allow you to cook them more without drying them out.
3.

Chill the beef well before forming patties. Wash your hands well, then form the patties.
4.

Make each patty by forming about half a pound of ground chuck into a tight ball about the size of a baseball. Firmly press ball into a flat cake, first between your hands, then onto a clean cutting board.
5.

Use a spatula or other straight-edged tool to "pull in" the sides of the patty so that they remain together and tight.
6.

Form patties about 1/2- to 3/4-inch thick. Make the diameter about 1/2 inch larger than the bun to allow for shrinkage.
7.

Build a hot fire in the grill. Lightly oil the bars with vegetable oil - pour oil onto a paper towel, then hold the towel with tongs to wipe the oil onto the grill bars.
8.

Season the burgers on both sides with salt and pepper. Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper give the best flavor.
9.

Place the burgers on the grill over direct heat. Cook about 3 to 4 minutes per side, turning once. Do not press down on the burgers with the spatula during cooking - this only squeezes out the juices, encourages flame-ups and dries out the burger.
10.

Check doneness by peeking inside a patty with a spatula, or use an instant-read food thermometer inserted into the center of the patty. (See Tips for recommended temperature.)
11.

Serve on fresh buns with any toppings you prefer: cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, pickles and condiments such as ketchup, mayonnaise or mustard.

Tips & Warnings

*
There are really only three tips to making the perfect burger: use fresh ground chuck, don't squeeze the life out of the patty during cooking, and enjoy them in good company.
*
A few words on food safety: When making the patties, start with clean hands and clean tools, and wash up carefully when finished. Beware of allowing raw meat, or anything raw meat has touched, to come into contact with other surfaces. The USDA recommends that all ground meat be cooked to at least medium, to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. If you prefer your burgers medium-rare, go to extra lengths to ensure that your meat is fresh and from a trustworthy source.

Ten ways to eat healthily without even trying

1. Use an oil spray for frying. Invest in a spray oil canister and fill it with good-quality olive oil. Ten squirts of oil from a spray provides just 10 calories, whereas a tablespoon of olive oil contains 100 calories. Use to spray over roasting vegetables and potato wedges, when you make a stir-fry or to quickly spritz over fish or chicken pieces before grilling.
2. Throw out your deep-fat fryer or chip pan... sorry, it’s the easiest way to make sure you don’t use it. Invest in a non-stick frying or griddle pan.
3. Remove the skin from chicken before cooking and you’ll remove most of the fat, too.
4. Use strong cheese such as mature Cheddar or Parmesan – a stronger taste means you can use less.
5. Use darker leaves in your salad as the darker the leaf, the more nutrients it contains. Include fresh herbs to give salads a flavour boost.
6. Hold the dressing on salads. Instead, add fresh chopped herbs and a light spritz of lemon juice and mature balsamic vinegar, then toss with a few big-flavour ingredients, such as capers and olives.
7. Don’t sprinkle raw bran over breakfast cereals to boost your fibre intake. Unprocessed bran is packed with naturally occurring compounds called phytates, which stop the body absorbing certain minerals such as calcium, iron and zinc. Instead, opt for higher-fibre wholegrain cereals.
8. Eat jacket potatoes are the perfect fast food. Simply serve with salad and a low-fat topping such as lean ham and reduced-calorie coleslaw, or tuna with sweetcorn and a little reduced-fat mayo.
9. Switch to skinny lattes. The change from full fat to skimmed will almost halve your calorie intake from 190 to 102 on a large latte.* (*based on Costa Coffee info).
10. Never skip meals, especially breakfast. Research shows that people who skip breakfast tend to be heavier than people who eat this meal, probably because skippers end up eating more during the day as a result of hunger cravings.

Know about Tomato

Tomatoes are made out of water and vital biological substances. The tomato is a plant belonging to the Solanaceae or nightshade family, native to Central and South America, from Mexico to Peru. Because tomatoes are low

In fact, the daily consumption of two tomatoes provides the human organism with 2/3 of the needed vitamin C. Moreover, since tomatoes have in abundance folic acid, which is considered necessary by experts in the reconstruction and recovery of human body cells, they are one of the healthier snacks a patient could eat. Specifically, those that receive any kind of medication treatment, drink a lot of alcohol, or eat a lot of meat, and also pregnant women or the elderly, need to consume folic acid and thus it is considered essential to eat a lot of tomatoes.

This "miracle plant" contains also vitamin E, which is helps fertility and assists in maintaining a balanced sex life. In addition, it is a great recourse of different vitamins from the vitamin B group, which help the human metabolism function smoothly and develops a strong neural system. It also contains selenium, which belongs to the chemical substances that prevent certain types of cancer, while it plays a very important role for the human immune system. The amount of potassium found in tomatoes protects the human heart and the magnesium it contains helps the organism overcome the symptoms of stress and muscular cramps. Tomatoes are also an excellent source of iron, copper and manganese.

Importance of water melon

Watermelons are believed to have originated in India, where they are extensively used for their sweet taste and beneficial properties upon our health, but some experts say that they may have also come from tropical Africa. Watermelon is the fruit of a vine-like herb and has a dark green skin
and rich red flesh.

Watermelon is the tasty and flavored fruit that we usually eat during summer in order to keep our bodies hydrated and refreshed, as it contains 90% water. This fruit has been used since ancient times by various peoples to protect the body from losing the necessary amount of water and from getting dehydrated during periods of drought. Watermelon was also used extensively when water sources were polluted.

For instance, ancient Egyptians used to welcome tired and thirsty travelers that reached their regions with watermelons. They traditionally offered the visitors big slices of watermelons on trays in order to help them quench their thirst in the most natural and pure way.

The high content of water makes watermelons very beneficial when used in weight loss programs, as they give us the impression of satiety, but have a reduced number of calories. But besides water, melons are laden with vitamin A and C, betacarotene, lycopen, iron, zinc, potassium and other nutritive minerals - which makes them twice as efficient in all kinds of diets, as they help us lose weight or stay fit and also give the body all the vitamins and nutrients it needs to continue functioning in an appropriate manner.

Also, due to the amount of water contained, they are frequently used for body detoxification processes, as the water from melons purifies the body of all waste and then is partially eliminated through urine. This also helps in "cleaning" our kidneys.

Melons intake is also extremely important for preserving our health because they are as rich in iron content as spinach is, which means they are the richest fruits in iron. Plenty of iron is found in red meat, too, but watermelons are more appropriate to be eaten because they are not that rich in calories as meat is.

Iron as a nutritive mineral boosts energy in our bodies, makes us active and provides us with stamina. Iron is tightly linked to the hemoglobin, which transports oxygen from the lungs to all body cells and is also part of key enzyme systems for energy production and metabolism.

Iron also strengthens and protects all the organs within our body and is crucial for menstruating, pregnant or lactating women whose bodies usually lack iron. Iron plays a decisive role in the growth and physical development of children and teenagers, as it helps their bodies grow in a healthy and harmonious way.

Medical experts also found that besides tomatoes, watermelons are one of the richest sources of lycopene - a naturally occurring red pigment in plants that is a very potent antioxidant and anti-anticancer agent. Lycopene is the most active carotenoid and works as an antioxidant against free radicals.

Antioxidant properties of the natural pigments fight against molecular oxidation by the free radicals. In our body, an infinite number of chemical reactions take place every day. A part of the chemical changes in the cells that use oxygen give birth to free radicals, which are harmful for the cells and the organism. An excessive amount of free radicals interact with the DNA or parts of the other cells in the body and may damage them. But the antioxidants in fruits and vegetables counteract and neutralize these organic "enemies."

Moreover, watermelons provide our bodies with high doses of vitamin C that is also a very potent antioxidant and not only.

Besides antioxidant properties, lycopene also helps improving short and long term memory, protects and prevents from heart disorders and some types of cancer. It is extremely beneficial against the prostate and testicles and prevents skin, cervical, breast and prostate cancer. Lycopene is also a detoxifier of the waste in the body and inhibits cholesterol formation.

Vitamin A and betacarotene are also abundant in these fruits and improve the accuracy of our vision, preventing, at the same time, eyes-related diseases such as cataracts or macular degeneration. Betacarotene and vitamin A are usually tightly connected within our body and, besides preserving eyes' health, they help heart to function accurately, strengthen the immune system, prevent against cancer and is an anti-aging and anti-wrinkling agent for the skin.
